Thank you for your interest in the role of Head of Communications & Strategic Engagement at Hertfordshire County Council.

This is a key corporate role in a strongly performing Council.

As our new Head of Communications & Strategic Engagement, you will support the leadership of the council to deliver an ambitious programme of change and transformation to help Hertfordshire County Council become the ‘Council for the Future'.  It is now more important than ever for the Council to maximise efficiency and productivity and to prioritise resources to secure the best outcomes for Hertfordshire and its people.

Finding the right person for this role is crucial. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead the County Council's Communications function to ensure the County Council communicates and engages effectively with residents, stakeholders and opinion formers in a way that secures increased knowledge, satisfaction and association with the County Council, and enhances its reputation locally and nationally as a Leading Council.

You will act as the Council's principal adviser on all communications matters, promoting best practice in the use of Digital Communications, and ensuring feedback to inform County Council decision making.  As a line manager you will also provide inspiring leadership to all your staff.

If you are excited by this opportunity and have the proven ability to meet and deliver our aspirations, then I would be pleased to receive your application.
