Thank you for your interest in working at Hertfordshire County Council.

This role of Director of Resources is a key role in a strong performing Council that takes pride in a track record of sustained innovation and delivery. As part of the senior management team you will support the leadership of the council to continue to deliver an ambitious programme of change and transformation. It is now more important than ever for the Council to maximise efficiency and productivity and to prioritise resources to secure the best outcomes for Hertfordshire and its people.

We have identified efficiency savings and key to this role will be to drive transformation and continuous improvement across all departments ensuring value for money and high quality service provision. So alongside our traditional approach, we need to expand work across departments; we also need to work with partners, given that we all face similar pressures.

The most recent Hertfordshire Forward conference - which brings partners together to consider current issues for the county - was a timely opportunity to discuss the role strategic partnerships can play in tackling our challenges. There were some interesting presentations and debates around how we can work collectively to re-design public services, drive economic growth and tackle the key issues facing Hertfordshire. While there's a real will to work together we all recognised that we need to work on the practicalities of making this happen in the real world.

If you would like to help us meet these challenges, and have the skills and ambition to create new ways to work efficiently with partners for the benefit of all our communities, we would be delighted to receive your application.
